A few months ago I replaced an old dying MB with an ASUS H370+ MB and an Intel i5-8400. I downloaded and installed the (supposedly) appropriate drivers from the ASUS web site. Later I noticed that Device Manager showed a missing driver for the SM bus controller. I tried reinstalling the the downloaded chip driver but that did not fix it so I used the (older) chip driver from the CD that came with the board. That did fix the problem.
I'm about to do a clean reinstall of Windows on this PC so I'm going to go through driver installation again. Should I install all the drivers from the CD? If so, should I then try updating them with the downloaded drivers (except for maybe the chip driver)?
