Biography
David Guetta is a French DJ, producer and music promoter who was for a long time popular only on his home soil. Today, this man is bestselling records and one of the biggest figures in the club music. Born in Paris, he began organizing his own dance parties since he was fourteen years old, right at his school after the lessons. Aged seventeen, he was invited to play at the Parisian Broad Club where demonstrated all the skills he had. There are many of those who would gladly stop at that point, satisfied with the status of the capital’s leading DJs, but it this was just a beginning for David Guetta. Since the very start of his career, he pursued the goal of reaching with his music as many people as possible, all over the world. Guetta explained it as a simple desire to share his passions and energy with the others, while prosperity was always in the second place.
When David was having his first voyages abroad with his set-lists, he was not welcomed in many cases. However, the things were doomed to change for the better. Frenchman’s talent to create electrifying music exploding the dance floors and his skill to feel what the public wanted eventually made him the favorite of numerous clubs in many corners of the globe. For a long time, David Guetta was mostly working as a party DJ, producer and promoter. In the mid nineties, he became one of the most wanted musicians and showmen on Ibiza with always a new and unexpected set of music. The DJ entered the new millennium with the release of his debut studio album, Just A Little More Love (2002). The record sold two hundred and fifty thousand copies, which left David no choice. He knew he had to continue recording music. In 2003, Guetta released his most scandalous work that gave rise to a whole streak of compilations with the same title. This was a collection called Fuck Me I’m Famous featuring the remix of David Bowie’s Just For One Day. This record sold over a million copies with its tracks flooding the airplay of the world’s best known radio stations.
The name of this compilation was picked up by Guetta to call a row of Ibiza parties he headed. These performances were also recorded and then offered as sequels of Fuck Me I’m Famous within the following years. In 2006, the artist’s single Love Don’t Let Me Go (Walking Away), executed together with The Egg, drew the attention of the celebrated Paul Oakenfold. The famous DJ offered David to issue his second album, Guetta Blaster (released in Europe in 2004), in the USA on his own label, which Guetta gladly agreed to do. Already in 2007, the French musician delivered his third studio effort, Pop Life. The title of the record was aimed to show that David had always tried to make music for everybody. The fourteen tracks included such hits as Love Is Gone and the new version of Just A Little More Love. The positions that the record occupied in the charts of many countries proved that this album was even stronger than its predecessors. In the summer of 2009, David Guetta widened his discography with another album, One Love.
