It appears to me that the USB controller is disabled for some reason when. Was corrected by running the usb 3.0 driver package from lenovo.
x-post from /r/Lenovo ThinkCentre M92P USB Problem
I updated the BIOS on my M92P this morning. After I did so, there was a new unknown device listed. Installing the Intel Chipset driver showed this is was a USB 3.0 host controller.
After a reboot, my USB 3.0 WD MyBook, keeps getting popups that this device could perform faster if the device was plugged into a Super speed port.
So, far I have done the folllowing:
Verified the drive is plugged into a blue USB 3.0 port
Deleted the driver, and plugged the drive back in and let the driver reinstall
Power cycled the drive
Changed the cable.
Completely reran the Intel chipset setup.exe and rebooted
Disabled USB legacy support in the BIOS.
Nothing has helped.
Has anyone else seen anything like this?
P.S.: There is no BIOS setting for setting the USB speed.
